Our Story

Shirat HaYam was founded with a vision to create a liberal, egalitarian Jewish community in Cyprus - a place where Israelis, Jews, and families from around the world can experience an open, meaningful, and welcoming Jewish life.

Since its founding, Shirat HaYam has grown into a vibrant and diverse community, bringing people together through Shabbat and holiday celebrations, cultural events, lifelong learning, lifecycle ceremonies, and activities for all ages.

As a member of the European Union for Progressive Judaism (EUPJ), we are part of an international network of liberal Jewish communities committed to the values of equality, pluralism, social responsibility, and a living Judaism that remains deeply connected to Israel and the global Jewish people.
