About the event
Shirat HaYam Community in Limassol is Welcoming the New Jewish Year!
We are delighted to welcome Rabbi Talia Avnon-Benveniste, a leading figure in Jewish thought, who will guide our services together with Gal Adir Stern, bringing music and spirit to our celebration.
📅 Rosh HaShana Eve – September 22 | 17:30–19:00
We will begin with a festive family service, combining familiar Jewish and Israeli holiday songs. Children will then enjoy dedicated activities, while adults continue with the traditional and poetic parts of the prayers.
The service will be held in Hebrew and English, with clear explanations for those experiencing it for the first time.
We will conclude with a festive Kiddush – apple or challah dipped in honey.
📅 Community Holiday Dinner – September 22 | 19:00–20:30
A warm, festive community dinner (by advance registration), including traditional blessings, songs, and a joyful holiday atmosphere.
📅 First Day Rosh HaShana Morning Service – September 23 | 10:30–12:00
A special Shaharit service - reading the Torah along prayers, and songs of faith, renewal, and inspiration. The service will conclude with the moving sound of the shofar, shared by the entire community.
📅 Second Evening of Rosh HaShana – September 23 | 18:00–18:30
Join us for the traditional Tashlich ceremony by the water – a meaningful ritual of casting away the old, releasing worries, and opening our hearts to new hopes for the coming year. The ceremony will be accompanied by live music and is open to the whole family.
